Kneeling Archer, Xi'an Terracotta Army

Located in the WTDC lobby is the Kneeling Archer. The Kneeling Archer was part of the Terracotta Army commissioned by Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. Production on this army for the afterlife began around 246 BC while Qin Shi Huang was barely a teen. 160 kneeling archers and thousands of other full-scale clay soldiers were unearthed outside of Xi’an in the 1970s.

Mr. Gazitua and his family purchased this replica while on a trade mission to China. It was made from the same local clay as the original Terracotta Army.
