Foreign Trade Zone Anniversary
WTDC marked its 2nd anniversary of becoming a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Operator on December 12, 2014. WTDC was the first active Operator in FTZ 281, a new FTZ granted to Miami Dade County’s Port Miami in 2012.
As an FTZ Operator moving cargo through its own Zone, WTDC has an insider’s look at the inner workings and advantages of FTZs. We managed an average of $1 million a week of inventory, primarily from the Duty Free and Travel Retail industry, through our Zone in 2013 while assisting 12 of our own customers and colleagues to become Foreign Trade Zones themselves as FTZ Consultants.

Ready for Cargo: FTZ Temperature Control Warehousing at WTDC WTDC is now ready to accept cargo into its FTZ Temperature Control section of the warehouse. With an ambient temperature of 65-70 degrees and humidity controls, this climate controlled warehouse space is ideal to store wines, dairy based liqueurs, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and sensitive electronics.
Safety Milestone: 4000 days
On Monday, December 15, WTDC marked its 4,000th consecutive day without an injury incident. The entire company gathered together over lunch to celebrate. When we revamped our Safety & Security Program in 2012, the 4,000 day mark was viewed as attainable target milestone for everyone to work towards each day.
Vehicle Loading: Racing edition
The Aston Martin Vantage pictured below recently completed an endurance circuit in Brazil and was flown to the U.S to compete in a Florida-based endurance circuit. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo stock car below is headed for Rotterdam for use in the growing stock car circuit in Europe.
