USA & Cuba Relations update:

Commercial flights restored

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, the United States and Cuba signed a deal to reopen commercial flight travel between the two countries. The deal immediately allows US agents to book travel on over 100 flights to Cuba, a previously banned transaction. Travelers must travel to the island under one of the approved authorizations which do not yet include tourism.

“Today is a historic day in the relationship between Cuba and the U.S.,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox said after he and Transportation Minister Adel  Yzquierdo Rodriguez signed the deal in a ceremony at Havana’s Hotel Nacional. “It represents a critically important milestone in the U.S. effort to engage with Cuba.” (Quoted on ABCnews.com)
