On Monday, May 18, select non-essential businesses and other facilities in Miami-Dade County can reopen for business. Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez rolled out the plan this week and it was approved today by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. With extensive new safety guidelines, the plan will allow reopening of retail stores, shopping centers, office buildings, personal grooming businesses, arts and culture venues, manufacturing facilities, and restaurants, among others. The plan is color coded to easily distinguish among levels of bringing the local economy to a new normal. Currently, Miami-Dade County is at level Orange and moves to level Yellow on Monday.
