U.S. introduces new round of 10% tariffs on $300 billion of Chinese imports

U.S. consumers may soon feel the effects of the U.S.-China trade war. On Thursday, August 1, President Trump announced a fresh round of tariffs on Chinese imports set to begin on September 1 as a result of stalled trade talk negotiations. The 10% tariff on $300 billion of Chinese imports now extends tariffs on almost all Chinese imports to the U.S., including many consumer products that had not been included in previous tariff increases such as cellular phones, apparel, and footwear.
