WTDC is Foreign Trade Zone 281, Site 4, family owned and operated by the Gazitua family since its founding in 1977. We are a full service logistics company specializing in international distribution and global transportation management. WTDC provides transportation services via Road, Rail, Air or Ocean.
WTDC is located in Miami, the gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean.
In 1976 United States Customs and Border Protection contacted the Gazitua family because they needed a private company to open a General Order Warehouse. This General Order warehouse would store seized cargo to alleviate airport and seaport congestion.
At that time the Gazitua family owned and operated one of the first and largest freight forwarders in Miami, FL. Luis Rafael Gazitua (previous CEO and grandfather of Sean P. Gazitua the current CEO) saw this not only as a business opportunity but also as an opportunity to grow the already existing relationships with US Customs.
On March 8, 1977, WTDC was founded as the first General Order Warehouse in Miami, FL. WTDC served the logistics community, as only a General Order warehouse for many years. Ralph L. Gazitua started to add a variety of additional services to WTDC. Throughout the years WTDC has been a company of firsts. As mentioned previously, WTDC was the first General Order Warehouse in Miami. WTDC was also one of Miami’s first: US Customs Bonded Warehouse (Bonded), Container Freight Station (CFS), and In-Bond Export Consolidator (IBEC). In 2012, WTDC became the first operating Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in Miami under FTZ designation 281.To better serve its customers WTDC is also a licensed Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) and Indirect Air Carrier (IAC) which can arrange for any shipment via road, rail, air, and ocean.
Expertise, experience, and an extensive distribution network are what sets WTDC apart from the competition. What can we assist you with?
