ART IN THE WORKPLACE
KNEELING ARCHER, XI’AN TERRACOTTA ARMY
Located in the WTDC lobby is the Kneeling Archer. The Kneeling Archer was part of the Terracotta Army commissioned by Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. Production on this army for the afterlife began around 246 BC when Qin Shi Huang was barely a teenager. One hundred and sixty kneeling archers and thousands of other full-scale clay soldiers were unearthed outside of Xi’an in the 1970s. Mr. Gazitua and his family purchased this replica while on a trade mission to China. It was made from the same local clay as the original Terracotta Army.
'BLIND FAITH', THOMAS WARGIN
The sculpture ‘Blind Faith’ created by Thomas Wargin can be found located in WTDC’s second floor lobby. The impressive aluminum, bronze, and natural stone artwork received the Best Sculpture Award at Red Dot Miami 2021 during Art Basel & Miami Art Week.
