Mexico Tariffs
Last week, a bill was submitted to Mexico’s Congress that would increase tariffs on products from countries that do not have free trade agreements with Mexico such as China, South Korea, India, and Russia. Among the notable tariffs that would begin in 2026 are a 50% increase on Chinese manufactured vehicles which make up one fifth of the country’s new automobile sales.

President’s Corner
Last night, I had the honor of speaking to FIU’s International Business Honor Society (IBHS). It is always a pleasure to give back to my alma mater and to this outstanding club each year. My father Ralph first spoke to IBHS in 2015 and we’ve presented scholarships to the Bandhwari Women’s Project ever since. I shared insights on international trade, logistics, and opportunities for students as they enter the workforce. Connecting with this group reminds me how valuable mentorship and education are to shaping future leaders.
Over the years, I have watched the Bandhwari Women’s Project grow from an FIU IBHS alternative spring break initiative into a year-round independent 501(c)(3) organization with an online storefront and a fashion show. Its new charitable status allows for more business development opportunities like grants, donations, and the online store.
Supporting education is one of WTDC’s Four Pillars—God and Family, Health and Education, Community, and WTDC—and we are proud to encourage students and employees to take part in organizations that create lasting impact. Best Regards,
Sean Gazitua, President & CEO
