June 1st marks the beginning of hurricane season. We would like to use this occasion to inform you of WTDC’s Hurricane Preparedness plan and share ways to protect your home and business.

Our community partners His House Children’s Home are also preparing for the hurricane season. WTDC is hosting our 2nd Annual Water Bottle Drive benefiting His House. We are so grateful to our customers, vendors, and employees for making this such a successful campaign.

Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricane season has officially begun. Are you prepared? From June 1st through November 30th, it is advised to be planned and prepared in case of a hurricane.

WTDC has a four step business operations plan in the event of a hurricane. This plan ensures the safety of WTDC staff and tenants with preparations before, during, and after a storm.

PortMiami’s Economic Impact

PortMiami’s cruise and cargo activities amounted to $61.4 billion in total economic activity in 2023. After record breaking passenger numbers last year, their tidal economic impact had accounted for 3.9% of Gross Domestic Product of the state of Florida.

In a study conducted by Martin Associates, it is reported the PortMiami is responsible for supporting 340,078 jobs through its activities, 29,429 of those being direct hires.

World’s largest cruise terminal almost complete

PortMiami will soon be home to the largest cruise terminal in the world. MSC’s $450 million port will have the capacity for 36,000 guests a day with three cruise berths.

The cruise port is set to open later this year.

2nd Annual WTDC Water Bottle Drive

WTDC will be collecting donations until June 21st for our 2nd Annual Water Bottle Drive in support of His House Children’s Home. His House is a faith-based organization that aims to restore the lives of children ages 0-18 and has housed 1,100 children this past year.

Last year, WTDC donated over 2,600 gallons of bottled water as well as a water filtration system to His House, which has helped the children stay safe and hydrated during the hurricane season.

WTDC will be accepting 8oz mini water bottles and 1 gallon water jugs to:

Welcome Ramon, WTDC Sales and Marketing Intern! Ramon Peon is a recent graduate of Florida International University majoring in Business Management. Container Imports stays strong

High inbound cargo volume is predicted throughout peak seasons of summer and early fall.

U.S. Ports handled a total of 1.93 million TEU this past March, an 18.7% increase from previous year. Forecasts for May project a volume of 2.06 million TEU.

Princess Cruises to break records

Princess Cruises wants to break records in 2026, with plans to sail 222 cruises from March through November of that year. The cruise line will offer 59 different itineraries, with 101 destinations across 29 countries. Travelers will have the option between 5-42 night sailings.

Within Princess Cruises 2026 itinerary, there will be an opportunity to view the 2026 solar eclipse aboard their newest ship, the Sun Princess.

The new season is now on sale for the general public.
